Semantics refers to the study of the meanings of words. This is why there is a specific field of study known as semantics. In linguistics, we specifically highlight the significance of the semantic rule. From this definition, it is clear that semantic emphasizes the significance of the meaning of words, phrases, etc. The word semantic is an adjective that can loosely be defined as ‘to do with meaning’.
